Telangiectasias are a special sub-type of varicose vein. They are located right inside the epidermis and have a fan-like or star-shaped appearance. Telangiectasias most commonly appear in the legs and are a cosmetic problem, especially for women. Your Munich vascular physician can remove telangiectasias quickly and painlessly.
Dr. Stephan Guggenbichler first of all performs an ultrasound diagnosis and creates a map of the leg veins. He then plans the most appropriate leg treatment based on ultrasound-controlled glue treatment with foamed and liquid sclerosing agents.
Sclerotherapy, i.e. the sclerosing of telangiectasias, works without anaesthetic or incision. Using very thin needles, a medication is injected into the telangiectasias. The swollen veins then stick together and are broken down by the body.
The treatment is performed in the "Sclerolounge", a room developed specifically for foam sclerotherapy. After the telangiectasias have been sclerosed, you will not feel any pain and will be able to walk out of the practice with no problems whatsoever.
